How to Set Up a Creator Account on Instagram
First Business accounts, now Creator accounts?
Do you find yourself in the middle between a hobbyist and a business? You might just be a creator! Creators are everywhere: Photographers, Videographers, Graphic Designers, Influencers, Dancers, Musicians, et al.
In short, an Instagram Creator Account is a blend between Personal Accounts and Business Accounts, meant for individuals first and foremost. Creator accounts get access to special features such as:
Follower Growth Insights
DM Filters and separate Inboxes
Scheduling Posts (via Creator Studio / Meta Business Suite)
Shoppable Posts
Advertising your posts / stories!
Creator accounts also get access to coveted CTA buttons that individual personal accounts usually rely on a link in their profile bio for.
Here’s How to Set Up an Instagram Creator Account:
Head to your Instagram Profile Page by clicking on your profile in the bottom right hand corner.
Tap the hamburger in the upper right corner.
Tap Settings.
Tap Account.
Tap Switch to Creator Account.
Tap Continue.
Select a Category and tap Done.
If you'd like, you can follow the steps to connect your creator account to a Facebook Page associated with your business.
Tap X on the top right corner to return to your profile.
You’re all Done!
Note: Step 8 is an optional step when creating your account, but is highly recommended if you would like to use all Business features across all of Facebook (Meta’s) Apps such as:
Scheduling Posts in advance (huge plus)
Responding to Instagram Comments from Meta Business Suite
Cross-posting between Instagram and Facebook Pages
Now your profile is all set up for you to start promoting your work! You are now set up for success!
